This gravel loop is ride #2 in the RMCC Challenge Series (https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-challenge-series)
While this ride is in the same general area as the Anti-Epic and other rides in this area, it offers a very different set of roads. We'll meet at Evans Park in Elizabeth at 9:15 with a departure promptly at 9:30.
The route is about 80% gravel and 20% pavement and offers riding in the trees, out of the trees and has some good mountain views as well. The terrain is continuously rolling. The full long route is 70 miles and accumulates 4000 feet of climbing through the day. There is also a shorter option that is 46 miles.
Whether you're looking to train for bigger events later in the season, to collect Challenge Series credit, or you just like a good gravel ride, please come out and join us for a fun day!
Long/Challenge Series route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31643616
Short Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31643715
Maggie's General Store in Peyton: mile 39
Hi-Test in Elbert: mile 57
Although we do go by a couple of stores, these roads are on the remote side, so do bring a well-functioning bike and be prepared to support yourself through the ride!
Note: This is obviously time of the year when rides may need to be rescheduled/changed due to weather. If you're interested in this ride please RSVP so you'll be notified in the event there are changes.
Finally, non-dues-paying members are welcome and invited to join us on any ride! After three rides we do ask that you join the club: https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-membership-application-form
Lastly, for our Challenge Series rides, we like to have a second ride leader to help make the rides more friendly. Please PM me if you are willing to help out on this one!
