This gravel loop is ride #7 in the RMCC Challenge Series (https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-challenge-series)
As gravel cycling has grown, Trinidad has become a go-to destination in Colorado. This Challenge Series ride will be our introduction to this area.
The planned loop is 85 miles and is about 90% gravel. It contains two solid climbs which add up to about 5400 feet of vertical.
We will meet at the Wal*Mart on the south side of town at 8:45 for a 9:00 departure. For those who are heading down on Friday, this is very close to multiple hotels.
As with all Challenge Series rides, this is a drop ride although we will regroup on a periodic basis. Please note that that the only store is about 50 miles in and is after the biggest climb of the day, so please do bring plenty of water (i.e. something beyond two bottles is recommended).
Regroup Point: Ringo's Market in Aguilar (mile 49).

For those who want to stay the weekend, we will also be posting a shorter Sunday ride. This should be a fun weekend and a way to see an area of the state most of us have just driven by--please join us!
Please note that we may tweak/alter the course before the event rolls around.
Finally, non-dues-paying members are welcome and invited to join us on any ride! After three rides we do ask that you join the club: https://www.rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-membership-application-form
