What we're about

Rogers Park Meditation Community was created with the primary focus of providing a welcoming, multicultural environment for everyone. For People Of Color, members of the LGBTQI+ community, all genders, ages, abilities and disabilities, and other underrepresented communities. We offer mindfulness practices and teachings on wisdom and compassion from Buddhist and other spiritual traditions, with attention to social issues, multiculturalism, and the diverse populations of Rogers Park and beyond. We welcome everyone seeking to end suffering and cultivate happiness. Our mission is to foster liberation, personal and interpersonal healing, social action, and inclusive community building. Rooted in our commitment to diversity, we operate with transparent democratic governance, generosity-based economics, and environmental sustainability.

Rogers Park Meditation Community meets Friday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm at the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W Morse Ave, Chicago, IL 60626. We are a Facilitator Peer-Led sitting group. Practice includes silent or guided meditation, dharma talk or activity, and discussion. We offer these practices to the community freely. There are no fees to attend. We do not accept donations. If you would like to donate to the church, we will accept church donations to be hand to them at the end of each evening. You may also donate in other ways; volunteering your time or donating material items to other local organizations.
