Hi, Sanjay Mishra <[address removed]> is coming up from
Queens tomorrow, September 10th, to see my (about) 3-acre meadow on Sundown
Road. It's on the edge, and part of, a 17-acre woodland. We'll be talking about
whether it can be converted to a permaculture garden or small farm, and how to
do it. We're meeting at my home at 213 Sundown Road, Kerhonkson, at 1:30-2:00
pm, and then going to the site. All are welcome to join.
.
The woodland parcel itself can be accessed by turning onto
Sundown Road from Samsonville Road, going to the end and making the right turn,
and then turning right past the house on the corner. There's a road that
goes in, but don't park on it, it gets very soggy and your car might get
stuck. You'll have to park on the road. There's a post, like a
partial telephone pole, right at the entrance, I'll have a sign on it.
Then there's a path back to the meadow. You can also reach it before you
make the right turn, but the creek is in the way. Which is fine, if you
don't mind wading. See the picture below, green arrows indicte the
entrance and path to the meadow. You can see the tributary into the
Mettacahonts dividing up the meadow as well.
