This is a small, social book club that meets monthly at 11.15am on Saturdays in a cafe to mostly discuss novels. Not too literary and not too trashy; titles we've covered include Room by Emma Donoghue, Before the Fall by Noah Hawley, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and Force of Nature by Jane Harper. Members choose the books.
This is February meeting, not Jan. We read Larissa Behrendt’s novel After Story, about a young indigenous woman, whose sister was murdered as a child, who goes with her Mum on a literary tour of England.
This is March event, not February. Hopefully back at our usual cafe, Four Leaves. We read the Australian novel, Honeybee by Craig Silvey about a distressed trans teenager whose life is changed by meeting a stranger.
