What happens if you combine furries, snow tubing, live DJs and the holidays?
Cosmic Furries of course!
Following our successful trip up Mount Hood earlier this summer, we're arranging a Cosmic Tubing trip to Mount Hood SkiBowl West on December 28! Work off those holiday candies and get ready to welcome in the New Year with everything you need to enjoy the world's first (and only) cosmic tubing venue on Mount Hood.
What's Cosmic Tubing we hear you ask? It's snow tubing... after dark... with a live DJ and lights too. Think of it as somewhere between a furcon dance and a crazy snow-filled sledding expedition of wonderment. With furries.
We've been given permission by Mount Hood SkiBowl West to come and cosmic tube in and out of fursuit, and while the venue will be open to members of the public, they're super excited to have us along to join in the fun.
They have changing facilities for us and there are some options for refreshments that have yet to be confirmed. We need to let SkiBowl West know approximate numbers asap, so please do sign up soon if you'd like to come. Additionally, the venue is in the snow-zone of Mount Hood, so if you're driving (there is a public bus to SkiBowl West from Sandy) you'll need either snow tires on your car OR chains OR traction socks for your car. Driving up without them is illegal.
Please note that it is recommended that you purchase a sno parc pass for the season (or the day) before coming up the mountain. These can be purchased in season, 3-day, or daily forms. The daily one is $4 and you can purchase it from SkiBowl West (We buy the season-long one as it's only $25 and lets you park at any ski area or winter resort in Oregon over winter.)
Approximate cost at the moment is $30 per person, including two-hours of lift time, tube rental, and unlimited trips up and down! Costs will go down a bit if there are more of us.
We're proposing to start arriving from around 4pm, with Tubing due to start any time from 5pm onwards. We should aim to leave by 9pm *8pm if the weather is bad*. I will update this with more details as we have them.
