Bring your rain gear, put on your fenders or bring the rain bike - we are going for a wet ride. The weather is not going to be nice like last weekend but a lot of you need to keep the lungs and legs in shape, myself included and I hope this ride will fit the purpose. Please note that with all the rain gear this will not be a speed fest but will be quick. I have put together two rides one 43 miles and the other 65 miles. The 65 mile ride is there only if by some divine intervention the weather is passable then we will do the longer route with a half hour stop in Keizer for food. The longer route will be decided by a group consensus.

Short route:

Long route:

Both routes go by the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm on South Meridian Road and everything should be in full bloom.

Because of the bad weather and wet roads the routes are very quiet rural roads. In general we should not be dealing with any difficult traffic and only an occasional Red Neck.

Because this is a rain ride it is expected that there are going to be flats - probably a lot of them. If your back tire is thin you are almost assuredly going to get one or more flats. Consider carrying an extra tube and tire. Also consider having your tires at near the maximum of the PSI recommendation for your tires.

The Route :

Route Stats: The Short Route is 1040 ft. of climbing and 43 miles

Pace and terrain rating. D-2

Type of ride: This is an intermediate level training ride. The route is very flat and you are expected to keep up. There will be a few short stops to rearrange gear.

Weather Cancellation Policy. Only extreme weather will cancel this ride and that means snow and that is not in the forecast. Rain and wind, is just adding to the challenge of the ride and is expected.

Mandatory for all riders.

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request. Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Represent us well!

Have their ride in good working order and bring a flat kit & the right size spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out.

Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride, we will help if we can!
