  • Hey everyone, Hashrocket will no longer be hosting RubyJax after this month. I will do a very short talk (description below) followed by hanging out / networking with fellow Rubyists.

    Keeping a Ruby app performant generally comes down to 1 thing: Ruby uses A LOT of memory, and we have to be aware of that reality. This meet up I'm going to explore the various versions of Ruby garbage collection, how Ruby allocates memory, how we can profile memory consumption, how excessive memory usage affects your applications performance, and ways to solve the problem.
