This year we're going to involve RubiABQ members in group projects. The first one will be a resumption of work on the Cedro Peak Ultra web site. That site is currently a Rails 3.2 project that uses good practices. The source is on GitHub.
We'll be setting up a separate mailing list to discuss work on this project, but I encourage as many RubiABQ members as possible to try to get the site running on their development machines via pow. If you can make it go, you can then help other people who can't. If you can't make it go and your development environment is your laptop, please bring your laptop to this Wednesday's meeting.
I don't yet know where we'll meet (nor do I have the cpu45 mailing list configured), but I don't want to delay sending this email until I know, because I've already put off writing this email too long.
Some of the other things we'll be doing in 2013 include
So, assuming you're at liberty to upgrade (if needed) your development environment, you'll need to get the latest version of rvm running so that you can install ruby 1.9.3-p362. After doing the git clone, you'll need to do a bundle install. Be prepared to have libv8 take a long time to compile.
If you have questions about any of the above, your email reply will go to the list and we can try to get as much stuff worked out before the meeting as possible. We can clean up the rest in person.
Happy belated New Year!
