Free Sunny River Walk and Social - Hammersmith to Kew on the Thames Path!

  • As stated in Event Text

Oh happy dance happy dance. Spring is in the air!! I am a cyclist and I can confirm it is once again A, lighter, and B, warmer. Winter, as much as I hate to admit there's anything bad about being outside, is not as nice as summer. It's pretty and crispy and sparkly, but spring has daffodils and sunny blue skies are forecast on Saturday!!

Which means it's SPRING!!

All these things fill us with joy but are better having a lovely river side walk with great people,  and this is a great chance for you to meet us on a short and sweet, easy to get to, and free walk, so come on down!

This one is an amazing section of the Thames Path, we start in the urbanity of Glammersmith, (Hammersmith), nip down to the river front which is hidden away from the smoke, and walk out to the lovely surroundings of Kew.

It's a lovely stretch of the Thames path and sticks close to the river at all times, we'll be taking a look at the bridges, as riverside cottages and restaurants gradually give way to green spaces. We can see some coppiced trees, which is a traditional British method of countryside management, and also check out Dukes Meadow, another fabulous restored area which used to be huge Gravel Pits, it's one of the earliest examples of a restored habitat in London.

It's heavily wooded towards the end of this section of the path, after that it's off to the pub for a meal and afternoon drink

Meet Time: 13.30
Meeting Point: Outside Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre, outside Benetton clothes shop.

I will be wearing a bright green Hi Vis vest.
Meetup Cost: FREE!! We do normally charge but as we've done some last minute changes we're doing this one for free!

Miles: 4.7 miles

Time: under 2 hours

Things to bring:
Water - at least 1 litre
Money for pub
Wear layered clothes, and hiking boots, or the nearest thing you have.

There are always tube disruptions in London each weekend, none look to be affecting the lines to Hammersmith this weekend, however if you need any further info click here:
