  • I think I can, I think I can... Conquer Mt. Lincoln!

    Needs a location

    Come join us on an outdoor fall hiking adventure on Sunday, September 29th! Group size limited to 8 people not including your co-leaders Bob & Sara. Mt. Lincoln (White Mountains - New Hampshire) Route Franconia Ridge Traverse 9.4 miles (see attached pic. for more info.) Leaving Boston at 5:00 a.m. on trail by 8:00 a.m. the latest. Sunset will be at 6:30 p.m. 2+ hour drive from Boston We'll do a dinner stop en rte. home (for those interested) therefore plan on a whole day adventure and not getting back to the city before 9 p.m. In order to attend, Bob or Sara need to know the last mountain you've climbed in the past 3 months if you haven't hiked w/ them before. You don't need to be fast, just a steady hiker and able to handle the 3,875 feet in elevation gain. IF YOU SIGN-UP, THESE ITEMS ARE A MUST. THEY ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE! -a solid pair of waterproof hiking or backpacking boots -rain gear (jacket and pants) -a winter hat and gloves / mittens -the 10 essential hiking items (see attached pic.) -think warmth: wool and fleece layers are the best over quick dry athletic gear. Irregardless of what the weather will be ALL of these items need to be either on your person or carried in your pack. **By not having these items you are putting  yourself AND the whole group at risk.** Hope to see you on the trail!   • Salem Road Race - 10K - finishes with Beer, Cider & Block Party!

    ** The race starts at 10:00 AM ** Our team is signed up for the Salem Road Race (10k) in Salem, MA. The team name is Running Club For People That Can't Run Good. The team password is Zoolander. If we have more than 25 team members, we'll get our own tent pre & post-race with our own stash of beer & cider! Come one, come all! Should be a fun race & party :). Thinking this doesn't need to be a stressful "race" but moreso a fun social event. We don't need to stick together 100% during the race, but can socialize before and after!
