What we're about

Our official name is Wildflower Ecovillage. Meet other local people who are interested in living in a sustainable ecovillage laid out using Permaculture principles in Hunt County around Greenville, Texas east of Dallas. The purpose of the group is to learn the skills necessary for organic produce farming, to learn homesteading skills in such areas as food preservation, and to develop a community that can, if desired, earn at least some income from the land. People should join who want to prepare the land to grow most or all of their own produce plus optional extra produce to sell, and prepare to live a sustainable future. People who want to live in a zero-energy home with rain water harvesting, solar electricity, solar hot water, and other green features. Parents who want to raise their children in an intergenerational and diverse community that is safe. This compassionate community has no large animals, such as cows or goats, on the property and allows no animal slaughter on property.

Our mission is to provide free education to persons seeking to live sustainably and grow their own food, particularly using Permaculture principles.

Please No Politics! Sustainability and transition are larger than, and reach across, all political parties. Please leave politics at home. Ditto for religion.

Please no promotions of products, classes, meetups, consultations or other without permission. Learning to live sustainability should be FREE or as free as possible so this planet knows how to change.
