Kayak Essex River to Crane Beach

Paddle around the islands at the mouth of the Essex River, Essex, MA to gorgeous Crane Beach. The far end of this famous beach is only accessible by boat and features a protected bay on one side and ocean waves for swimming on the other side of the narrow peninsula.

This uncrowded beach stretches for miles!

Bring your lunch and water games for a relaxing day on the beach coupled with an interesting paddle.

Apres paddle libations at a local restaurant in Essex. (To be announced).

NOTE: There's no parking at the launch. Once you unload your boat, you'll drive back on the road, to an area where parking is permitted.

Please arrive early, park, and unload so we can launch on time.  High tide is at 11:45 !

We are crossposting this Meetup event with the Seacoast Ski Club who enjoyed this paddle last summer.

My physical therapist tells me I need to take a break from paddling. Hoping to meet you all on another excursion. Sorry to miss this but have fun.

Hey guys... I'm wondering how far we'll be kayaking and if you can you give me an idea of how strenuous it might be (e.g. tough going against the tide, fast paced)? Unfortunately, I've injured my shoulder in the gym and it's just not healing well. I really want to join you so I'm trying to gage the stamina/strength needed. Is this a casual paddle or are we needing to make time? Thanks for the feedback.

Are you kayaking? Can you bring an extra one to the river? I don't have a roof rack and don't think it will fit in my car. cell is[masked]
