    Penny Pines Trailhead

    TRAIL WORK – NOBLE CANYON TRAIL Join SDMBA volunteers as we continue our trail maintenance on upper Noble Canyon Trail. Meet at Penny Pines at 9:00 am, we'll then carpool to the work location on Pine Creek Road. Meet with crew leader Mark Constantino All tools & training will be provided (after signing a waiver). We’ll work to 2 pm; afterward we’ll hand out some swag from Cal Coast Bicycles & drink beers from Lagunitas Brewing Company.     Fluff up that grass skirt and get your TIKI on at this SDMBA signature event! Re The SDMBA team is hard at work planning the 2019 edition with some surprises including the first ever "HALF ARCH." Riders will have the option to do the original long route as they meander almost 50 miles from San Elijo Park - to Green Flash Brewing experiencing a variety of terrain through the open spaces of central San Diego County OR to take part in the 20 mile "HALF ARCH" from Black Mountain Open Space Park to Green Flash Brewing. Still plenty of climbing in this new addition to the event! Start logging those miles now. Share your progress #archride2019 VOLUNTEERS: It takes a tiki village to run this event.     The monthly Advocacy Meeting is run by the SDMBA Vice President and Committee Chair, Ben Stone. The agenda will cover what's happening with the local trails, what SDMBA is working on and usually a guest speaker or two. Please RSVP, and indicate if you would also like to join in for food and drinks. Bring $8 for the food kitty, $2 for the beer kitty. Otherwise, just RSVP that you will attend, and bring yourself. Due to some heavy lifting this is not recommended for underage volunteers.

    Join us for some trail work at Rancho Mission Canyon in San Carlos area. Help us continue the flow! Meeting location will be the lower parking lot at the Rancho Mission Canyon Park of off Margerum Road. Please bring work gloves (multiple pairs if it’s raining), long pants, layers, snacks, and water. All participants will be required to sign SDMBA Waiver.

  • St. Patrick's Day - Family Trail Ride at Penasquitos Canyon

    Los Peñasquitos Ranch House

    Join us for a fun St. Patrick's day family trail ride at PQ Canyon. Meet at 9:30AM, ride rolls at 10:00 AM. (Ends 12:00PM approximately). We'll start at the open Field by the Adobe House. We’ll do a quick bike and helmet check. Give a short introduction to trail riding etiquette and safety before we roll out. We are aiming for a 6-7 mile loop for stronger riders (able to control their bike and ride for the 7 miles total, ages 5 and up). We’ll be riding mostly fire roads with some single track. Pace as slow as the slowest rider, no rider left behind. For smaller kids we suggest to bring trailers, trailer-bikes, bike seats,… please no training wheels as they might get stuck on the uneven ground. Parents/Legal guardians are required to stay with their minors at all times. • What to bring Bike in good working order, helmet, water, sunscreen, snacks and maybe a spare tube. • Important to know Pace as slow as the slowest rider. Legal guardians are responsible for their minors. SDMBA waivers required to be signed by parents/guardians.
