New Meetup: Moonlight Hike

From: user 2.
Sent on: Sunday, May 31, 2009 12:54 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for The San Antonio Hiking & Outdoors Meetup Group!

What: Moonlight Hike

When: June 6,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Description:
The hike will be at Mud Creek Park on Jones Maltsberger. However, the parking lot only holds 6 cars. So, we will park at the River City Church at the corner of Jones Maltsburger and Redland Road, which has plenty of room for us. It's a short walk to the park entrance from there. This park doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but it's never crowded and you usually have a really good chance of seeing some wildlife.

We will stay on level 1 or 2 trails with some slight elevation changes. Nothing too strenuous due to limited visibility.

What to wear/bring:
Make sure you wear appropriate footwear - comfy tennies are fine. Bring water and a flashlight or head lamp. Long pants and insect repellant recommended. We'll have a howling good time. No werewolves allowed!

Estimated duration:
1- 2 hours. Unlike daytime hikes, please stay with the group from start to finish - for safety - since we will be hiking in the "dark"!

After Party!

Afterward those who would like to will go to Boston's for food, drinks, socializing and fun. They have a large outdoor patio. It's on 1604 just before Hwy 281.

Alternate Plan:
In the event of heavy rain or storms, we won't be able to hike, but head directly to Boston's for a social event.
