The kettlebell is a cast-iron or cast steel weight (resembling a cannonball with a handle) used to perform ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training.
Unlike traditional dumbbells the kettlebell's center of mass is extended beyond the hand; this facilitates ballistic movements. The kettlebell allows for swing movements and release moves with added safety and added grip, wrist, arm and core strengthening. The unique shape of the kettlebell provides the "unstable force" for handling - key for the effectiveness of the kettlebell exercises.
By their nature, typical kettlebell exercises build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders, and increase grip strength. The basic movements, such as the swing, snatch, and the clean and jerk, engage the entire body at once and in a way that mimics real world activities such as shoveling or farm work. Kettlebell exercises are in their nature holistic; therefore, they work several muscles simultaneously and may be repeated continuously for several minutes or with short breaks. This combination makes the exercise partially aerobic and more similar to high interval training rather than to traditional weight lifting.

The first session is half price (£3). Come down and have a go, get a feel for it. If you enjoy the first session and would like to continue with the training I offer a pay as you go option (£6ps) or pay for 4 sessions upfront (£20ps) the sessions last 1 hr. We start off with a basic joint mobility warm up followed by the core elements of kettlebell training and finish with a light cool down to bring the mind and body back to a restful state.
