What we're about

We meet in a circle and discuss important stuff! This is where men come together and process stuff in a circle of trusted men, a solid peer group for connection, support, and accountability. It is both engaging and interactive. Share about your experiences with goals, career, addictions, hopes, marriage, challenges, spirituality, insecurities, needs, fears, relationships, dreams, parenting, or intimacy . . . pretty much anything you're dealing with.

Based on group interest, we may schedule activities, too, (like bowling, poker, hikes, steak dinners, etc.).

Oh, and the group is set as private--not that it's secret, but it's nobody's business that you're a part of it.

Here are answers to three questions one of our members asked--I think they'll help you get a better grasp of what the group is about:

1) Targeted age: I purposely left out an age designation to avoid excluding someone. All ages are welcome. It seems the predominant members so far are in their 30s. I'm glad other ages are showing up, not to balance the group, but to show how age is an obstacle for some of us that can be overcome. We're all in this together! Same goes for differing relationship statuses, professions, interests, etc. If you've got a Y chromosome, you're welcome here!

2) Leader qualifications: I am a licensed marriage & family therapist (MFT) who's been seeing clients in Torrance since 2001. I specialize in helping couples fortify their relationships and in coaching men in their recovery from addiction (including sex addiction). I run a formal therapy group for men on first & third Thursdays. This meetup is my way of giving back to the community and showing men the power of group involvement.

3) Time and meeting duration: we meet at 7pm for an hour because that's what works best for me. This may change as we create this meetup group together, but this is what I'm willing to give for now.
