Measuring user engagement has always been an important part of product marketing, and the web has brought a host of tools and challenges. Rich web interactions brought about by single-page applications have added complexity to the process of measuring user engagement. At the same time, new analytics tools such as Google Tag Manager have increased the capabilities of end-users to more closely monitor user activity.
Josh Morse, user experience manager at RightScale Inc., will be showing how RightScale has used a variety of tools to measure user engagement. He will show how the UX team has made particular use of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track user activity, and how the resulting data has been incorporated into UX practices.
