HOLLYWOOD, CA (June 10, 2013) - Independent Music LA has been climbing the charts the past twelve months with its unique blend of networking mixers that have created a new format in the recording industry. Set to hit the Main Stage at the legendary House of Blues Sunset Strip Thursday, June 13th, the one-year anniversary gathering will celebrate a rare achievement in the competitive field of indie rock music: lasting relationships.

Since July 2012 industry execs and their creative counterparts have turned the famed Viper Room and House of Blues Foundation Room into a networking hot spot while they searched for the next big thing. The original concept was to bring together record labels, producers, promoters, photographers, and bands without representation to make valuable connections in an environment that fosters new relationships and inspires creative projects; a year later those relationships have taken hold and a new way of doing business has emerged.

What is normally perceived as privileged and insider information has been shared freely by the frequent guest speakers with serious street cred, including: Geordie Gillespie, Record Label Executive (Virgin, Hollywood, Sony Records); Picazzo Stevens, Radio Programmer (KVYB, KDHT, KISV); Skip Saylor, Producer (Guns n Roses, Foo Fighters, Santana); Ken Lucek, Record Label Executive (Warner Bros, Capitol, Jive); Marc Benadout, Video Director/Producer (500+ commercials and music videos); Haskel Jackson, Producer (7x Grammy Nominee); and Yogi Lonich, Guitar Player (Wallflowers, Buck Cherry, Chris Cornell). By attracting the industry’s heavyweights, Independent Music LA has showcased a slew of emerging bands rising above the Sunset Strip circuit including Stereo Scenario, Devil In Drag, Cameron Rafati, Exist Elsewhere, Tina Vonn and Davina Leone as well as international artists Empra (Australia) and Iron Kite (China.)

Sponsored by ultra-hip T-shirt collective and unique retail store Pop Killer and celebrity-favorite headphones Boomphones, Thursday night’s event will offer performances by Exist Elsewhere, Uniform Standard, Tina Vonn, Blind Owl, Tomi Townsend and 4 Billion Souls that will deliver proof positive of the mixer’s success.

Don’t touch that dial -Independent Music LA is already amping up for a second year of successful mixers showcasing the best talent L.A. has to offer. For more information on times, dates and bands, please contact Angel City Entertainment.
