Is there a place that could rival Moab for mountain biking, but not be quite so far to drive? Yep, there is, and the place is called Gooseberry Mesa. Picture being on top of a 1000' mesa riding on slickrock and singletrack with minimal climbing all day long. Now, picture this being surrounded by the incredible mountains of the Zion area in the backdrop. It just doesn't get much better than this!
The terrain of this ride should be considered intermediate, so having some mountain biking on singletrack and slickrock would make for a more enjoyable experience.
The camping will be very simple on BLM land with dry toilets at a couple of the trailheads.
The weather may get a bit hot, so we will plan on riding in the morning and late afternoon, and maybe head into Zion during the day to find some shade.
We will also spend some time exploring an area just South of Gooseberry called Little Creek Mesa that some locals raved about last time we were there.
A high clearance vehicle and even a 4 x 4 should be considered for the drive out to the trailheads if the weather gets wet. Although I am anticipating drier conditions than when we were out there earlier this Spring.

**The $20 non-refundable fee is really a deposit that will be returned once you have arrived at the event. If you would like to bring a friend, please have them join the group and rsvp personally. It only takes a few minutes, I promise.
So break out your ride (full suspension not necessary) and join us!
See you out there!
