39 Deptford Broadway SE8 4PQ, London
Come and see this Palme D'Or award-winning and acclaimed film, directed by Ken Loach.
It's set for general release later in October (2016) and tells the story of Daniel, 59, who has worked as a joiner most of his life in Newcastle. Now, after a heart attack and nearly falling from a scaffold, he needs help from the State for the first time in his life. He crosses paths with a single mother Katie and her two young children, Daisy and Dylan. Katie’s only chance to escape a one-roomed homeless hostel in London has been to accept a flat in a city she doesn’t know some 300 miles away.
Both find themselves caught in a no mans land of welfare bureaurocracy, against a backdrop of modern Britain.
Please buy your ticket (£5) in advance. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
