Carol Keiper is a marine ecologist specializing in marine birds and mammals. She has a degree in Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. Her research has focused on the effect of changing ocean conditions on the ecology of marine mammals. In 2005, she received an Environmental Hero Award from NOAA for her “tireless efforts to preserve and protect our nation’s environment.”

Carol is a founding board member and researcher with Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge, a non-profit organization. She has worked on seabird research and created outreach education activities for educators and communities.
