Easter break trip in April

  • to

  • Needs a location

  • Not sure where we're going yet, but Katie and Lee are hoping to develop a longer trip during Lee's Easter break. Most likely, it will April 14-18, so the weekend will mean folks will likely have to take less time off work.

Destinations? Death Valley? Coast? Leave comments with your suggested destinations (if you have websites with good info about your suggestions, add those as well). Our goal is to not require too much driving (DV does have the long drive to get there). Remember that this will still be April, so destinations in the Sierra are likely out due to potential for too much snow on the ground.

FYI, Katie and I are looking at Valley of the Fire in Nevada. It's a long drive from the Bay Area, but those who want to could fly to Vegas and rent a car. We'll keep everyone posted as we finalize details. https://goo.gl/maps/KQxTSKBGfQn

How about Carrizo Plain NM. The San Andreas Fault is very visual there. Also the flowers may be in full bloom mid April.

Death Valley is always awesome and the wild flowers are special, (something I haven't managed to see yet.)

Death Valley weather is fine in April...and depending on the rains over the winter, the wildflowers can be amazing. Big Sur sounds good as well (not quite such a long drive!)
