ABSTRACT:
We are excited to host a discussion of industry leaders on MEC on Wednesday, May 29th. The format will be a moderated panel discussion focused on how MEC will likely evolve within and affect the 5G ecosystem. The discussion will cover aspects of network architecture, applications, use cases, and future developments of the technology. At the end of the panel discussion, audience members are invited to participate in a Q&A session with the panelists.

SPEAKERS:

Ramya Ravichandar - VP Product Management, FogHorn
Ramya Ravichandar, Vice President of Products at FogHorn, brings a rare combination of technical expertise in real time analytics, machine learning and AI, combined with valuable experience in Industrial IoT. She is a seasoned product leader who previously headed Cisco’s Streaming Analytics platform for IoT. Ramya has a PhD in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.

Ilker Cebeli - Senior Director of Product Planning, Samsung
Ilker is a Senior Director of Product Planning at Samsung. He is responsible for leading the emerging memory, SSD, and all-flash-array related storage solutions and technologies. He has spent 25 years in enterprise computing, storage, networking, and memory working in various roles. Prior to joining to Samsung, Ilker worked at Micron, and was leading and directing emerging memory projects in storage division. Ilker also spent 15 years at Intel and he was responsible for Intel's Xeon™ product planning, strategy, and server platform architecture such Nehalem and Sandy Bridge.

Constantine Polychronopoulos - VP & CTO, Telco/NFV, VMWare
Constantine Polychronopoulos is Vice President and CTO of the Telco/NFV business unit at VMware driving the company’s innovations in the NFV, SDN and telco cloud infrastructure domains. Previously, he served as Vice President and CTO, at Citrix Systems responsible for the Bytemobile product line, the SDN/NFV strategy, and for the expansion of the Netscaler ADC, into the service provider markets. In 2000 he founded Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in wireless network optimization and data services, which he grew to about 350 employees and over 160 mobile network operator customers, before it was acquired by Citrix Systems in 2012. He holds 10 patents and has published more than 160 research papers on multithreading compilers, OS, distributed and cloud computing, wireless networks and mobile computing. Seven of his publications have received “Best Paper” awards at ACM and IEEE conferences. He has consulted extensively for many software and hardware companies including Intel, IBM, Silicon Graphics, HP, Kubota, NKK etc.

Winfred Chao (Moderator) - Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager, 5G & Innovation, Verizon
Building up new partnerships for Verizon's technology development team on the West Coast. Seeking and evaluating companies in diverse fields, including AR/VR, MEC, AI/ML, robotics, autonomous vehicles, etc.
Extensive experience in the wireless industry through AMPS, TDMA, CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G.
