Scalæ By the Bay 2016 Program is Published, Early Bird Registration Open

Scalæ==Scala+Scale By the Bay 2016 full program is up:  Super Early Bird registration is open.  We have the strongest program ever, with 80+ talks on three tracks across three days.  The tracks are: Functional Programming, Reactive Microservices, and Data Pipelines (with Kafka, Spark, and the whole SMACK stack).  For the first time ever, this global Scala conference is fully hosted by Twitter in its global HQ in San Francisco.  There're beautiful rooms, lounges, nooks and crannies for networking, and hall-mark endless Ritual Coffee Roasters coffee.

The conference is truly global in character -- with attendees from Americas, Europe, and Asia.  Global leaders, Bay Area unicorns, established enterprises, and young ambitious startups are all turning to Scala for three key reasons, presented on the three tracks:

  • Thoughtful Software Engineering -- with functional and typeful programming, we're taking a step back and setting up what we want to do for success, avoiding as many errors as possible and upholding clarity and maintainability, building a process around the code with tests, continuous integration, reuse, and rigorous improvement.
  • Reactive Systems and Microservices -- a significant fraction of Scala ecosystem is geared up for building APIs, scalable backends, and moving these architectures to streaming.  We have a record number of top-level streaming talks -- with Akka Streams, Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, etc.  Finagle, the bedrock of Twitter service architecture, will be presented in its birthplace by the people who surrounded the cradle, grew the baby to maturity, learned everything about the microservices in the process, and now share it with the world.
  • Data Pipelines -- connecting Data Engineering with Data Science in the pioneering By the Bay spirit, we focus on the SMACK Stack (Scala+Spark/Mesos/Akka/Cassandra/Kafka), as well as Machine Learning with Functional Programming.

All three tracks are running non-stop on all three days.  All previous Scala By the Bay/Big Data Scala/FinagleCon events sold out, and this one will be no exception.  We offer 100 Super Early/Early Bird tickets in appreciation of the community, on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Get yours today!

See you at Twitter in November,
A+ & SæBTB
