John Muir Laws' Nature Journal Club is going to the Sunol Regional Wilderness this month. Here's what it says on the website:

Sunol Regional Wilderness is a jewel in the crown of the East Bay Park System. We will enjoy a short moderate hike (with one steep section) to an Acorn Woodpecker colony and then on to a stunning oak savannah where we will enjoy our portable potluck lunch. This is a great place to sketch spring wildflowers at their peak and try your hand at oak woodland landscapes.
Meet at the Old Green Barn Visitor’s Center on the left after you pass the entrance kiosk. There is a $5 entrance fee per vehicle.
