Announcing a new Meetup event for SF Ski & Social Meetup Group!

What: 1-Day Ski Trip to Kirkwood

Wooo Hoooo!!! Kirkwood has received 80 inches of snow in the past 7 days, with more snow expected this week! Join us for a ski trip to Kirkwood for a fun-packed day of skiing/snowboarding ? and you don?t have to drive there! Keiko Hsu is organizing this trip in conjunction with Bay Area Ski Bus, and SF Ski Club members get a discounted price. We?ve extended the RSVP deadline to this Friday, Dec 3rd.

WHEN: Wednesday December 15th. Pickup times will be between 4:00-5:30am. We arrive at the slopes around 9am and depart at 4:30pm. Bus arrives back in the Bay Area around 8:30-9:45pm after a dinner stop.

WHERE: Kirkwood Ski Resort, 1501 Kirkwood Meadows Drive, Kirkwood, CA 95646, about 30 gnarly miles south of Lake Tahoe and 180 miles east northeast of San Francisco. The Bay Area Ski Bus has pickup locations in San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, San Rafael, and Santa Clara.

COST: $109 per person including bus transportation, lift ticket, continental breakfast and snacks on the bus. SF Ski Club Members are eligible for a discounted price of $101 per person
so if you pay $109 online, we will refund you $8 on the trip.

Kirkwood is known for its abundant snowfall and a broad selection of advanced skiing terrain, as well as plenty of intermediate trails. Average seasonal snow fall is 39 feet, the most of any Sierra Resort. Kirkwood has a base elevation of 7800 feet, higher than other Tahoe ski areas, and a vertical drop of 2000 feet. The mountain is unique in that it has 2 miles of ridgeline at the top. This makes Kirkwood popular for cliff drops and cornices.

Please RSVP before Friday Dec 3rd on this Meetup event page. Keiko will send payment instructions and logistical details to everyone who RSVPs ?Yes?. You can pay by credit card via PayPal.

Think snow!
