Video for Live Events

Speakers:

Andrew @Foratv - Will focus on the use and deployment of video for live events. Will share real-life examples of best practices for social video creation from live broadcasts, and approaches to deploying a multi-channel live distribution strategy.

David Spark @dspark - "Capturing Events: How to Produce Funny 'Man on the Street' Videos"The best way to get the pulse of an event is to hear what the people have to say, just like you might see on late night talk shows. Making something funny out of the opinions of the average person is not something that comes easily. You need a combination of an awesome premise, tenacity, and talent in shooting, interviewing, and editing.

David Spark, founder of Spark Media Solutions has produced hundreds of funny "man on the street"-style videos for major tech companies such as IBM, Juniper Networks, LinkedIn, and HP. In Spark's short presentation he'll show examples of these videos and how you can create funny "man on the street" videos for your business.

There were good points for management. I have thought much about it, as applying to my AT&T Entertainment short film project. Time to practice, amend and implement within video shooting project plan.

the first speaker...bored me. There were some good bits of info...but the presentation was very flat and not what I expected for "Video for Live Events."

    Spark! Way more engaging.

I am looking forward to learning more about Brightcove and the endless possibilities. Thanks for having us and see you next month!

Thank you everyone for coming out to last night's meetup. Here's that article on how to make funny "man on the street" videos. http://www.sparkmediasolutions.com/21-tips-for-producing-funny-man-on-the-street-videos/

Here's my ONE BIG TIP that I didn't mention last night. If you want to get good, you need to start, and be OK with failing. Your first videos are probably going to suck. You need get comfortable with the process of walking up to people and getting good quotes. It doesn't happen the first time. It takes practice. There's a reason I didn't show you the first videos I created.

Loved the infographic and how the presenter walked us through the steps. I thought he provided a solid overview of what's possible in the limited amount of time he had.

    Hello All,

Here are topics that I personally would find interesting.
Video Side - How to properly run a pre-production with team. Business side - What precautions and contigencies to put on a final contract for a client. Thank you Kara, Erik and team for organizing these. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Thanks for the topic ideas! We definitely love the idea about properly planning for the creation of any video content - webinars, live events, promo videos, social, etc.
