It's the first meetup of 2020! You can feel free to insert a joke about perfect vision here. Go ahead, we want to all get it of our system now before the meetup.

📣 Announcements
I didn't realize the recordings of the last meetup were never made public (sorry, Hampton!), but have no fear, all of 2019 is now available on the YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jyqKsJZ72c&list=PLon9Jm13bZurB7JyjBFmJcmq6lcBUPBW5&index=12

🗣 January Speakers

🎤 Clement Genzmer (Facebook) - Video players in scroll views

Watching videos used to be an immersive, fullscreen experience. It has increasingly become a short, dynamic experience of a few seconds per video and consumed on-the-go. On mobile clients, video players are routinely integrated within complex scroll views where they are allocated and deallocated incredibly quickly. Video players where not meant for this. In this talk, I will go over best practices, what works and what doesn't, to maintain high performant UIs containing multiple videos.

🎤 Paul Smith (theMoment.tv) - Pervasive video deep links

Google announced search results will link directly to timecodes within videos. He'll review the technical requirements, plus what's likely to happen next in the market and some technical implications.
