Re: [sftruthaction] Rest in Peace Joe Strebler

Dear All,

I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's untimely death. I am terrible with names, particularly last names and I'm wondering if Joe Strebler is the same Joe or a different Joe from the one who was working on that movie (at the Power to the Peaceful several years ago) and made that film which won a prize from Alex Jones, who was a very young, dedicated, vibrant guy, as Nate has described...

Can anyone tell us more and/or post a photo of him?

I spent most of today working on a report with photos of the recent ten year events/actions at http://communitycurrency.org/reportff11.html ... it's pretty partial, since I missed so much of the action parts/ since I couldn't be at more than one place at a time.  There were more faces at the rally/march than I recognized, and I wonder if Joe was there, too. I couldn't post all the photos that came my way.

Man, Mike, I am really sorry to hear this.  Is there any more info?  Feel free to call me anytime, too.

Joe was so young, so dedicated, and such a vibrant human being.  As with all of you I've stood by over the years, freeway blogging, passing out DVDs or just talking over a beer, I am both glad and honored to have known Joe.  He influenced many, and will be missed by many, may he rest in peace.

I regrettably won't be able to attend the memorial tomorrow.  I ask that my condolences be conveyed by those able to attend.

My thoughts and love are with you all.

Sincerely,
Nate

I'm sorry to have to announce the passing of Joe, one of the original members of SF Truth Action. I don't know the details of his passing, except that it was sometime Saturday night, and he will be sadly missed!!  Joe never failed to bring smiles upon our faces when he entered a room, or joined us in the streets! We will never forget you Joe!!
This is from his younger brother,Lenny: "There will be a memorial for him this Tuesday the 27th at 7pm. The location is[masked]th St # 100, San Francisco, CA 94110-1442. Please come to celebrate his life and bring other loved ones he may have."
