Sonoma County Ride - Train for the WCC number 2

This is the second of three rides following three parts of the Wine Country Century metric route. We'll start at the parking lot at Healdsburg City Hall and ride the middle of the metric route up Dry Creek Valley to the Lake Sonoma Dam. Then over Canyon Rd. to Geyserville and up to Alexander Valley before leaving the WCC route and heading back to Healdsburg. Due to the Google Mapping debacle of the first WCC training ride, I'll give directions from Highway 101:
Take the Central Healdsburg exit (Healdsburg Ave.) off 101 and head north. At the city square, turn left at either W. Matheson St. or the next street (W. North St.). Go one block and turn right (Strangely, Vine St. off Matheson and Grove St. off W. North - same street but changes from Vine to Grove at W. North). Healdsburg City Hall is on the left hand (west) side of Grove just past W. North and the parking lot is just beyond the building. See you there!

    Hi,
I have something to do on Saturday night that makes the logistics unrealistic to do this ride.... not that I wouldn't LOVE to be on this second training ride with all of you. Instead, I will take a certain Catrike Speed out for a spin. Pretty wonderful alternative. Enjoy your ride. I will look for the pictures. Should be a nice day for a ride wherever we are.

Sorry you won't be able to make it to this ride, Carol. I am curious what Catrike Speed this is because Dan sold his 2006 Speed to a guy in Oakland. He just joined the BARC Meetup group under the name Beez.

Carol, I hope you have a great ride tomorrow, and hope to see you in a couple of weeks.

    Hi John,
I think you have to either make the ride public or friend each of us. When I go to the link it says you keep your rides private.

Judy, I finally figured that is why I was getting the friend requests. I OK'd yours and 2 others. In the mean time, I typed up a cue sheet and will have copies tomorrow.

I don't know how, or if I can, make it public w/o joining with a membership. If you know how I can, that would be great, as I'll do one for the 3rd ride too. See you tomorrow.

Have been feeling physically a bit off the last few days, so as of now am leaning against doing the Sonoma ride tomorrow. Sorry I may miss this, but hope to be at the 3rd training ride in two weeks time. Come morning, if I'm feeling better and more up to it, I will post an update. Have fun all.

Janusz, sorry to hear that you're not feeling tip top. Hope you feel better quickly, and we see you on WCC training 3.

OK, let's see if I figured out MapMyRide. Hopefully, this is a link to this weekend's ride: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/382369594

As of this reply, it is not a link to the route, may need to make it public? I use ridewithgps so I don't know for sure...

Well, I guess mapmyride isn't working like I expect. When I click on the link, it takes me to the ride, but maybe MMR recognizes my computer. I'll type up a cue sheet with the turns at approx mileages.

Any guess on mileage/time for route?

Per John (host), "The route is about 35 miles with the out-and-back to the park at the dam where the WCC lunch break is. Depending on rider speed, 2 1/2 to 3 hours riding time. We can stop for lunch in Alexander Valley at the Jimtown store or when we get back to Healdsburg"
