Please join us as we watch HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS (view the red band trailer (http://youtu.be/mAzqMhVHh0c)), the adrenaline-packed twist on the classic fairy tale written and directed by Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola (also written by Dante Harper). The film stars Jeremy Renner (THE AVENGERS, THE BOURNE LEGACY, THE HURT LOCKER), Gemma Arterton (PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, CLASH OF THE TITANS, QUANTUM OF SOLACE), Famke Janssen (X-MEN, X2, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, GOLDENEYE), and Peter Stormare (ARMAGEDDON, FARGO, THE BIG LEBOWSKI).
Fifteen years after Hansel and Gretel defeated the wicked witch who planned to have them for her dinner, the siblings have come of age as skilled bounty hunters. Hell-bent on retribution, they have dedicated their lives to hunting down and destroying every witch still lurking in the dark forests of their homeland. As the notorious blood moon approaches, the siblings face a great evil -- one that could hold the secret to their terrifying past.
The movie is rated R. We will most likely not be seeing it in 3D.
UPDATE (PLEASE READ!):
We'll be attending the 2:50 PM showtime. If you'd like to save time and ensure your ticket, you can buy your tickets online here (http://goo.gl/JmzQH) (in case the link says the showtime is no longer available, just select "Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013" and the 2:50 showtime and it should work). Fandango does charge a convenience fee, and I don't think Regal waives it if you're a rewards member, but just in case you can use Regal Crown Club #: 0000021242167 (5 leading 0s). We'll be going to Romano's Macaroni Grill (http://www.macaronigrill.com/docs/dinner/F2W2N107D.pdf) for dinner following the movie. If you plan to attend, you must RSVP separately for February's Dinner (no reading required!) (http://www.meetup.com/SFFBookClub/events/100761352/).
We ask that you please meet up with the group before the movie so we can accurately take attendance. If you arrive before the meetup starts, we'll be standing near the tables past the ticket checker. After that prior to the showtime, we'll start saving seats (to the extent we can for a group this big) and you can meet us right outside the entrance to our theatre room. If you arrive late, we'll re-congregate after the movie immediately outside our theatre room.
Lastly, we do ask that if you attend a movie screening with us, that you please refrain from talking during the movie or disrupting the experience for other guests. We want everyone in the group to be able to hear and enjoy their movie experience, and we also would like to maintain a positive relationship with the theatre, so your cooperation is appreciated. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the movie during dinner.
Please update your RSVP and guestcount if you will not be attending!
