To celebrate the success of all our writers participating in National Novel Writing Month, we've arranged a special event to celebrate with a great tea room in charming Berryville. After the stress and exhilaration of November, what better way to reenter civilized life than with afternoon tea!
This event is space-limited due to the size of the venue, so please add yourself to the waitlist if interested and hopefully a spot will open up. Please note that this event is ONLY open to writers who participate in NaNoWriMo and attend a write-in with us. Please keep your RSVP updated and accurate!* We are required to make a credit card guarantee to the tearoom to secure our reservation, so please make any changes by midnight on November 30 at the latest. Also, if you have any dietary restrictions that you'd like the restaurant to be aware of, please answer the question after you RSVP 'Yes'. Please do not post it in your public RSVP comment or in the general comment thread.
The Tea Cart is offering a special Nutcracker Tea, with a cost per person of $34 (before tax and gratuity). The tea service includes a sparkling aperitif (or sparkling apple cider), tomato bisque, Yorkshire shepherd's pie, 4 christmas party tea sandwiches, a scone with clotted cream and jam, 4 desserts, and of course... a bottomless pot of loose leaf tea. The regular menu is unavailable for the month of December, with the Nutcracker tea as the prix fixe option.
Berryville is about 1 hour and 15 minutes west, off Route 7 east of Winchester. Please arrive on time.
In the meantime, good luck writing! And by the way, you don't have to successfully complete or 'win' NaNoWriMo to join us for this event (though we hope you do!). We're quite happy to see all of you writing, whether you hit 50k or not. Patrick Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind, The Wise Man's Fear) didn't finish last year either (see below).
*Since this meetups require reservations and a credit card guarantee to the restaurant, and since missing one of these meetups may take a spot away from someone else who wants to go, we'll need to have a stricter attendance policy than normal. A no-show will prohibit you from attending another dinner meetup for 4 months and a writers meetup for 2 months after the no-show. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
