What is your gluten-free (short) story?

Here’s my story and why I’m passionate about starting this group: After years upon years (upon years) of stomach pain and misdiagnoses, I finally figured out that I have Celiac Disease in 2010. Socially, having Celiac can be so tough! I’ve gone to many dinners with friends where I’ve had to forgo the food because the restaurants couldn’t guarantee that my meal would be safe to eat. No matter what the scenario, it’s always better to be safe than sorry and sick. I try to look at this Celiac stuff as a beeline to health and wellness. But it can be easier said than done to stay so positive. That’s why I think that meeting other people with similar stomachs will benefit all of us Celiacs & gluten-free-ers for the best!

Hi! In November of 2010, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I'm also new to San Francisco. I've started this group as a way to meet other gluten-free people, so we can explore the GF world of SF together!
