Please tell us a little about yourself and your interests.

I create art pieces ranging from small (ray guns to robots) to larger ones like furniture, lamps, bikes, retro TV sets and even a life size Rocketeer/ Time Traveler. I like steampunk creations as well. In addition to doing art, I am a marathoner and cyclist. I coach cross country and track.

What are your favorite SF&F movies, TV shows, youtube shorts and other media?

'The Day the Earth Stood Still' 'Forbidden Planet' and 'Martian Chronicles'. TV shows 'Time Tunnel', Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, X-Files and original Star Trek series. Favorite book: H.G. Wells 'The Time Machine'

What do you want to get out of this meetup? Chat on boards? Meet people with similar interests? Attend SF&F related events? Other ideas?

Meet people who have an appreciation and enthusiasm for science fiction, fantasy and things related to the atomic and space age. Also to attend and be involved with future events of this nature.

Where did you hear about this meetup? (search on, an ad somewhere, a friend, etc.?

Found it searching on line for sci-fi art events.

My name is Gary Weston. I am a retired H.S. math teacher. Since 2010 I have been creating art usually with sci-fi or retro themes. All pieces are made using recycled materials and electronics.
