This is an up and back type hike with a distance of about 8-9 miles on a shaded trail. This is an advanced beginner hike and I will be hiking at a leisurely pace with plans of having a burger and a beer at the pack station afterward.
Be sure you carry at least 2-3 liters of water/electrolytes, some protein snacks and a camera. And some insect repellent just in case.
With the exception of the first half mile, which is down hill, the rest of the trail up to Sturtevant Camp is a gradual incline so short breaks will be taken if needed. If you have any questions feel free to post them here.
This hike starts at Chantry Flats which gets very busy on weekends so allow yourself plenty of time to find parking.
