Not only will we taste a few food samples I'll have prepared ahead of time, but I'll have someone here to answer any questions you have about growing herbs as well as container gardening. Angie Lassig is a state board certified nurseryperson.
Bring either a favorite spice or herb and an idea how to use it, or a question about a spice or herb. I plan to demo a few things we can all taste, then the time will be open for guests to share their ideas for their favorite herb and/or spice. What is more exciting than food and the many ways it can be seasoned?!
It will soon be time to purchase herbs for our gardens or for container gardening. With some fun recipes in hand, information from those who come to this event, and a taste of some foods using interesting spices and herbs, this should get everyone excited to try some new things and grow fresh stuff! If I can't get a person to teach us how to prepare a container for growing herbs, I will have handouts on this subject.
Light snacks will be served (that go along with our MeetUp subject). I'm thinking: Saffron Rice, Salmon with a Pacific island-inspired spice on top, White Truffle Cream w/ cheese on a cracker, and one other dish (undecided right now), and a dessert.
I'll have hot chocolate on hand.
