For the past year+ I have been learning about accessibility standards, how they impact users, and how to QA for them in websites I help maintain for the Tennessee Secretary of State.
I would like to share what I have learned with others new to accessible web design. I hope to demystify some of the things that daunted me when I first learned about accessibility compliance.
I'll be doing a live exercise with a screen reader, as well as showing how a website scanner can show in great detail the elements on a webpage that are not in compliance with specific WCAG standards, and how to go about fixing them.
Please send me any questions you have beforehand and I will be happy to answer them or incorporate them into my presentation, time permitting.
