We will be working in a beautiful apple orchard that is located on a private property in See Canyon. We will meet and walk to the orchard as a group where instruction will take place. There are sheep in the orchard that cannot be let out! Please close the gates.
Our project for the day will be thinning the apple fruit on the trees. Please BRING a pair of small HAND PRUNERS, if you have them. Scissor type of pruners work well. We will work for approximately 2 hours. It's a big job and we welcome volunteers. Before we begin, there will be a short orientation about the methods of thinning fruit. Remember to wear closed-toe shoes, preferably work boots that won't collect foxtail, burs and stickers, work clothes, hat and bring your dinking water! The days are warm!
