Ken Riggio, VP of Software Development at Ticketmaster will present 'Event Driven Architecture'. Event Driven Architecture (EDA) is an architectural pattern that promotes the production, detection, consumption, and reaction to events. An event is defined as any significant change in state of an entity within the system. A complement to Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), EDA facilitates agility in operational change management, extreme loose coupling of software components and services, implicit orchestration, and dynamic determinism.
EDA requires a messaging backbone, a communications infrastructure, inclusive of hardware, software, network protocols, and message formats, which enable each piece of the EDA to communicate with one another. EDA messaging backbones are typically enabled through the use of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Apache ServiceMix, Camel, CXF, and ActiveMQ provide an open source solution to enabling the messaging backbone, using a collection of standards and enterprise integration patterns such as OSGi, JMS, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, and EIP.
Kenneth Riggio is the VP of Software Development at Ticketmaster. He is currently responsible for the Consolidated System of Inventory, Identity and Access Management for Consumer and Client systems, and Integration and Interoperability services.
