Hike @ Brighton State Rec - Training for Swiss Alps Trip

This is one of a series of training hikes for those attending this summer's Swiss Alps trek but is also open to any Solar member (max 20 total) 
Hike the Kahchin and Penosha Hiking Trails (approximately 6 miles)


Pace: Moderate (2.5 mph with pack) 
Meeting Time: 10AM 
Departure Time: 10:15 - please be on time so we don't have to wait in the cold weather.

    The weather is predicted to be BALMY - 20 degrees, with light wind. So - of course wear layers that can be taken off as we get heated up. Trails are lumpy and packed hard, so boot Yak-Tracks or similar will give us good traction. I opted for the $65 MicroSpikes at REI - the YakTracks just don't hold up for my size 13's. There is still a beautiful snow pack on the trees, bring your camera!
