Mindfulness Meditation Instruction - Achieve Inner Peace

    Having Meditation as part of our daily life can have a profound and extraordinary effect upon us.  Even in times of turmoil and upheaval, it can enable us to face life’s hardships and remain composed by reducing our afflictions.  With the wisdom of meditation we can remain unaffected by habitual judgments of right and wrong, advantage and disadvantage, gain and loss, honor and disgrace, even when dealing with hardships, stress, setbacks and disappointments.

    Meditation is an invitation to get to know yourself intimately at all levels, Heart, Mind, Material form and Energy form.  When you do not know enough about yourself your mind cannot feel centered or clear.  You will be easily influenced by external circumstances and when that happens your joy, happiness, sorrow and suffering is totally under the control of others.  In a sense, you have already completely lost yourself.  When our minds cannot be changed by external circumstances we are instead able to change these circumstances and this gives empowerment.

    In this weekly class we will explain and practice mindfulness of the body, senses, feelings, mind and phenomena of this world.  We will learn:

    • Posture and scanning of the body

    • Counting the breath.

    • Following the breath.

    • Witnessing delusion.

    • Witnessing Truth.

    • Self-reflection.

    • Discernment vs. delusion

    • Healing/Revelation

    This will be a weekly event open to all levels and specially for beginners.  The intention is to encourage a regular practice that you can continue to do at home.  Meditation itself will be 30 minutes, there will be explanation and guidance before meditation and Q&A after. You are welcome to bring your mats, pillows, or whatever you like to use for a comfortable sitting meditation.

    Come as you are, but be open and ready to re-discover yourself in a new way!

    Mariela Siwarqinti comes with a seven year Chan meditation practice under Master Hsing Yun’s monastic order from Fo Guan Shan Temple, a Mahayana Buddhist temple of the Linji Chan School lineage. Besides having a religious based meditation foundation she was also educated under the Emory-Tibet Partnership of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received Cognitively-Based Compassion Training, a secular meditation practice to cultivate compassion.  

    Mariela is also a Certified Healing facilitator in Raleigh and Cary practicing Reiki, Pranic Healing, Archangelic Light.  She also performs Shamanic ceremonies and rituals collected from formal Shaman teachers and her own ancestors of Andean descent.  For more information about Mariela and her services, please visit:
