Mat Cutting Learnshop
Preparing your photographic prints for clients, friends or for exhibitions requires that you properly present them for viewing in the best possible way. Whether you want to cut your own mats or just want to learn more about the different kinds of mat boards available (economy, archival, conservation, etc.) and the different mounting techniques ("float", "fake float" or "overlap") this Learnshop is for you!
For the first part of the program, Jeff Milsteen will do a presentation on mats, backing boards, and the different ways you can mount your photographs. Learn how to properly prepare your images for mounting and to effectively cut mats to meet your own personal preferences. After the presentation, we'll have a number of mat cutters set up with experienced members standing by to help you cut your own mats.
Regardless if you have a mat cutter or not, join us for this informative evening to prepare your images for framing. We'll have 18x24 inch mat and backer board sets available to purchase for $5 (cash) each, or you can bring your own. Bring 1-2 images and we'll show you how to plan, cut and mount those images so they'll be ready for framing. This is a great way to learn the best way to cut mats and prepare your images for presentation.
We hope to see you there on July 23rd!
