Change of date for our July SPS Meeting.

From: SPS President - Greg C.
Sent on: Tuesday, June 19, 2018 12:59 PM

Change of date for our July Meeting. It is now, Friday July 13th.

Hello everyone… its summer now in “Hotlanta” already in mid-June.  Schools out and summer activities have begun. Take some time to enjoy the weather by the pool, exploring the city or the north Georgia mountains.  Of course you should take your camera so you can share your activities with us at a upcoming SPS  General Meeting or on our Facebook site that you can link to here.

Our next month SPS meeting will be on the 2nd Friday, July 13th instead of the of the 1st Friday of July due to the 4th of July weekend and a prior use commitment of our meeting space.

I’m excited to share with you that our presenter for our July meeting is Tony Casadonte Managing Director of the Lumière Gallery in Atlanta.

Join us July 13th to venture into the “Art of Collecting Photography”. As managing director of the Lumière Gallery in Atlanta, Tony Casadonte will share the founding of the initial collection by Robert Yellowlees and how the collection and the gallery has grown since its inception. Lumière now offers one of the country’s largest selections of collectable photographic prints.

Our Monthly Theme in July is “The Color Red” – You’ll need to capture Images that have a main/predominant component of the color "Red" in the image. For B&W images the color Red could be either” black” or “various shades of grey” and thus needs to convey the color red in some fashion. Example of this concept is a stop sign, roses, strawberries, fire engine etc.

I look forward to seeing you at our Learnshop next week (Tuesday June 26th). Jim Morgenthaler will be presenting the first of two segments of “Back to Basics”. Bring your camera as we’ll be separating into camera groups (Cannon, Nikon, Sony etc.) to better learn how our cameras operate.

All my best, Greg
