February SPS Meeting recap.....

From: SPS President - Greg C.
Sent on: Monday, February 4, 2019 3:03 PM

Hello all…..

I wanted to take this opportunity to follow up on our monthly SPS meeting last Friday and thank Tracey Rice for sharing how she approaches P-O-R-T-R-A-I-T photography.   In particular, I enjoyed how she critiqued our portrait images. Her vision on how to capture the perfect moment and how to pose her subject, were specific points of interest.

I would also like to congratulate our February “Portrait Themed” winners for a job well done.  They are as follows;

2nd Place Jim Morgenthaler

3rd Place John Barfield

4th Place Mike Nixson

Honorable Mention Carl Fedrickson

Honorable Mention Susan Perry-Sadie

1st Place Linda Nixson

2nd Place Ken Patty

3rd Place Sam Brown

Honorable Mention David Woolf

Honorable Mention John Barfield

1st Place John Barfield

Everyone please post your images to our website so that we can share them via our Social Networks.

Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone to see if they have any used equipment for a good cause.

Used Photographic Equipment Wanted!

SPS members have an opportunity to help young photographers by donating their used photographic equipment to the Gwinnett County School System for use in their extensive photography program for middle and high school students.

Film and digital cameras, lenses, tripods/monopods are at the top of the Gwinnett teachers’ wish list.  Donated equipment doesn’t need to be new, but it does need to be in good working order.

If you have questions, please contact Harriet Dye using Meetup messaging -  She will be collecting your donations at February and March SPS meetups – First Friday, Saturday Coffee and Critique, and Tuesday Learnshop meetings.

Thanks in advance!
