I love the color and the contrast in this image. Is this a single image HDR?

    Thanks, Mick. It's a 3-shot HDR.

This is a wonderful shot. I'm kind of new to photography. How does HDR work and where did you learn how to do HDR photography?

Thanks, Justin. HDR, or High Dynamic Range, photography is basically a technique of combining multiple exposures to achieve the highest dynamic range in a photograph, often capturing the darkest shadows and brightest highlights and everything in between. It can also help you draw more detail out of an image. There are lots of tutorials on the web (just Google HDR tutorial) and you'll find tons of resources. You need software to create HDR images. I use HDR Efex Pro 2 by Nik Software. A lot of folks use Photomatix. You can download a free trial copy from their websites and give them a try. Good luck!
