We are a chapter of the Society for Technical Communication, a professional organization that advances the theory and practice of technical communication across all user abilities and media so that both businesses and customers benefit from safe, appropriate, and effective use of products, information, and services.

Here in Florida, we provide programs of interest and value to local practitioners to:
-promote best practices
-facilitate networking
-provide educational resources, both within our group and in the wider worlds of business and education.

Tech Comm Career Paths Presentations - FTC/STC Annual Meeting

• What we'll do Future Technical Communicators (FTC) at UCF and the Florida Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) will be hosting a mini-conference on technical communication career paths on Thursday, February 7 in the UCF Student Union 316CD from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free, and anyone interested in technical communication is invited. The meeting will be a series of consecutive mini-presentations on the diverse career paths available within the technical communication field. • What to bring Admission to the event is free, and refreshments will be served during the pre-meeting networking time.

• What we'll do Join the Florida Chapter of STC on March 21, 2019 as we welcome a panel of hiring managers, recruiters, and HR professionals who interact with Technical Communicators on a daily basis. Agenda 6:15pm - New Member Orientation 6:30pm - Networking and Refreshments 7:00pm - Program begins Come talk to a panel of experts about working in the Technical Communication field. Everyone is welcome! Ask questions from the experts on: · Interviewing · Resumes · Career Advice · Mentoring · Work Samples/Portfolio and more… Come prepared with your questions and hear stories from the ground floor of the hiring process. This panel will not only benefit early career technical communicators, but those with experience as well. It's always a good idea to sharpen your interviewing skills, you never know what the future holds.
