Peoples Climate March: Solidarity Event

If St. Louis is to lead on climate, we all have to act and help lead the way.

The St. Louis People's Climate March is an opportunity to do just that - to show our local elected leaders in our city and our state that we want to see climate action at the local level.

September 21st is a chance to make history and be part of creating the largest climate rally in our city as well as part of the largest global movement to date.

From the "Peoples Climate March" website:

This is an invitation to change everything.

In September, world leaders are coming to New York City for a UN summit on the climate crisis. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution.

With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history. We’ll take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities.

To change everything, we need everyone on board.

We will meet at the round fountain with the statue on the upper level (street level) of Kiener Plaza. You may want to factor in extra time due to the Rams game and potentially bad parking.

Are there any more specifics on the location, or do we just look for a bunch of people with signs?

Larry, I just received an email that this was starting at 3PM. Can you confirm if it is at 1PM or 3PM?

I have room in my car for 3 people. I also have free parking downtown. We could meet at Forest Park Community College if you want to ride along. Caveat: I am volunteering and want to leave FPCC parking lot at 11:45 sharp. [masked]
