Foals are a rock band from Oxford, England formed in 2005, consisting of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Yannis Philippakis, drummer and percussionist Jack Bevan, rhythm guitarist Jimmy Smith, and keyboardist Edwin Congreave. Foals are considered one of the top UK live acts, having won the 2013 Q Award for Best Live Act and twice being nominated for the NME Award for Best Live Act (2011 and 2013). NME and The Independent give their latest album, 'Everything Not Saved...Part 1', 5/5. If you haven't heard them check them out on your favorite streaming service. As one DJ on SiriusXMU said "it's like they play every instrument as if it were percussion". The show isn't sold out...yet so get tickets if you want to go. It's general admission so it will be standing room only unless you want to get in line early and grab one of the few stools downstairs or a balcony seat. We can "meetup" some place nearby before the doors open for a drink or food or both. If you don't want to get there early I will send everyone signed up my contact info and let you know approximately where I am in the venue if you want to stop by and say hello or hang out in that general area. You don't have to hang with me during the show. I tend to hang back a bit and I know some like to get in real close.
Riverside w/ TBA. Doors at 6:30, Show at 7:30. $25 advance, $30 day of show. Someone said there were free tickets at Vintage Vinyl so you may want to check there I plan to get there around 6:15 to get in line. My number is(314)[masked]. Free show at Off Broadway on Friday, May 31 with four talented but under the radar indie rock bands. You can find their music on your favorite streaming service or the internet (bandcamp, etc). Take a listen and I know you will like at least one if not all of these bands. Orphan Welles is local to St. Louis so come out and support the locals. Did I mention it is a free show. You do need to get tickets from Off Broadway's website though but they are free! If you have not been to Off Broadway it is a great, intimate venue but is mostly standing room only. Doors open at 7pm if you get there when they open they do have some stools along the walls and in the balcony if you really want to sit down. I am looking forward to this show. I had not heard of any of them but they all sound really awesome.
What more is there to say, it's Madahoochi. A St. Louis staple on the live music scene from the late 90's to early 20teens. Rock band Madahoochi released several albums and was voted best of St. Louis in the RFT poll for several years in the 00's. Though they now are spread out across the country they get together for a show in the Lou every now and then and what better venue than Delmar Hall. Tickets are $15 in advance and go on sale 4/5/19 at 10:00AM and this will sell out. This is St. Louis nostalgia at its best.
