PICNIC TREASURE HUNT & DRAMA

Navigate your way through the wonderful 18th century garden's,fantastic features and follies solving the clues as you go. You will also have a memory quiz with photos along the way, and upon return you will take part in some "high drama"

We will meet at the Chiswick House café which was built 2 years ago and is an award winning design with outdoor seating and picnic areas. Here we can have a picnic, or get something from the cafe. Over lunch we can get to know each other and form groups. After lunch you will be given your question papers , maps and themes for your drama. You can prepare your drama whilst doing the treasure hunt. Please bring along any props you may wish to use ( e.g. bonnets and accessories to suit the period setting)

The treasure hunt starts from 1.30pm.

It takes in all the gardens plus a short walk along the riverside promenade by the Thames and the historic Chiswick village CHURCH. Please be back at the start by 4pm.

The gardens are described as “like strolling through an Austen novel”.

They were pivotal in the development of the “natural English landscape style which spread throughout the world.

They were designed by William Kent with Inigo Jones creating some features

The house itself is one of the finest example of neo Palladian architecture in England.

The gardens have a wealth of features, classical temples, obelisks and sweeping waterways.

The question papers will be marked before the theatrical interlude.

The café will still be open for teas and cakes.

Each team will then perform their drama in front of all teams who will give their marks.

We will allow any Les or Darceys to comment, then give out the answers and award the prizes !!

If you are one of the first ones to start you should be fine, start the treasure hunt first and come back early, anyway that's what I think. BG will know better but you might not be able to reach him now

Tfl have decided to do engineering. It will be too problematic for me to get there as I am a fool when it comes to buses and making sure they are going in the right direction.

Looking forward to the heritage treasure hunt on Sunday. Please bring along pen, paper & a clipboard might prove useful ( or each team can improvise). Near transport links so anyone can depart early should they need to.
If fine we can picnic on the grass so you may wish to bring mats or blankets. Full facilities at park incl 2 cafes.
Deadline for changing RSVPs is 6pm on Saturday. Any changes afterwards will logged as no show for future referrals.
